before start to prune roses
Before starting a pruning, it’s useful to also consider these information:
- Clean the plant from all the weeds that can prevent a clear view of the whole branches. In this case it’s better to prune when the plant has lost all the leaves.
- Use clean and well sharpened shears, in order to a clean cut of the branches, without causing further wounds on the plant.
- Make sure that at the end of your operation you have removed all the pruning residues and all the vegetation of the year (clean the soil from all the dry, fallen and sick from the previous season fallen leaves).
